Baptism Testimonies
Entering into relationship with God through Jesus gives us each a new start in life – a new start means all things are new, all things are clean, and the possibilities for the future are unlimited in our new lives with God. At this early point in our faith journey we follow Jesus instruction to be “baptised” or washed through water as a sign of the clean new life He has brought us spiritually. Here are some of the stories of the new life that Jesus brings to people shared at the time of their baptism as followers of Jesus. We hope you find them to be an encouragement to you on your journey of faith.
Two years ago I was just a little boy who just went through the hardest year of my life; a year in which a was depressed and didn’t know why I was here. However during the next two years God led me to Himself, I discovered how much he loved me and what a magnificent plan He had for my life if only I would put my own selfish desires aside and follow him. I am now just at the start of my journey with my Heavenly Father and it is my desire that everyone would join me on this amazing journey.

Beth's story is of a little girl who was sent to Sunday School by her parents, and continued her involvement through teenage years and married life. A terrible event within the church resulted in Beth stopping her attendance and loosing her connection with God, leading to depression. Happily Beth was drawn into an art and craft show at the Church. Experiencing the warm and friendly atmosphere and a connection God, a couple of months later she started attending church again. Thus began a new journey with God, helped by new friends in a Home Group. Beth loves cooking and is a wonderful volunteer cook for our Tuesday lunches for our Senior people.

I wanted to be baptized not because I wanted to please my parents or to do a compulsory Christian ritual but am doing it because I have personally made this decision to accept and follow Jesus Christ for the rest of my life.

My name is Peony Fung. I was born in HK. Knowing God when I was in Primary School. Grow up in a non-religion family. Love God and want to follow him.

I have learnt that I will never be perfect but despite that, I’m still someone precious to God. I wanted to wash away my old life and start a new one with God which is why I chose to be baptised.
