There are trillions of Google searches each year. Google Trends revealed that Aussie's wanted to know 'Who Jesus is' more than anyone else! Obviously, this is an important and relevant question for us today!
It seems though that everyone has an opinion on who Jesus is. Many say Jesus is irrelevant, outdated and not for me. Others will say he is just a good bloke with great teaching like ‘turn the other cheek’ or ‘love your neighbour’. So who is he and how can we know?
In amongst all the opinion, we believe the bible gives us the best way of knowing who Jesus is and the importance of what he has done for the world, and what this means for us today.
Jesus is God himself, and came to earth as a human being. He lived a perfect life; was crucified on a cross and three days later came back to life. He came to restore and put everything right again - the world and humanity - by setting up a Kingdom marked by love and justice and inviting people in. Through his life, death and life again, He paved the way for you to enjoy a relationship with God and a meaningful life now and into the future.
Jesus can make sense of your life in a way that nothing else or no one else can. He said 'I am the way the truth and the life'. Now that is big claim, but if there is a chance it could be real, isn't it worth checking out? Maybe he's not irrelevant or outdated. Maybe he's exactly what you need.

No Pressure - No Charge - No (uninvited) Follow Up
Life is full of questions but rarely in our society do we take time or find a place to consider the big and important questions about life. Alpha invites you on a 9 week journey, and along the way you can ponder with others questions about life's purpose, meaning and destiny.
On this adventure, each person is able to pose and consider questions and engage in conversations without pressure from others.
A person who lives to 70 years has some 620,000 hours to invest. Most of us spend about 20 years asleep, 10 years watching TV, over 7 years eating and drinking - not to mention numerous years at work.
Putting aside say 30 hours to explore life’s greatest questions must surely be an astute investment. Like millions of others around the world, you may find it to be the beginning of your greatest adventure!
Each week (for 9 weeks), Alpha starts with a meal and relaxed conversations - always a great time to get to know new friends.
Following the meal, is a short talk on DVD exploring another of life’s big questions.
In small groups, guests have the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic and engage in conversations with others without any pressure or coercion.
There's no chare for Alpha, albeit during the series opportunity is provided for any who wish to discretely contribute towards food costs.
Alpha began in 1977 in Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB), an Anglican Church in London and spread in the 1990’s through the UK and then internationally.
Globally, over 29 million people have experienced Alpha and been engaged in conversations about Life's big questions.
Alpha is heaps of fun – it’s not all serious. A great place to make new friends too!
Alpha happens in universities, prisons, churches of all kinds, pubs, coffee shops, huts in Africa & board rooms in London. Youth, elderly, families and singles have embraced Alpha.
Alpha is endorsed and hosted by Christian Churches worldwide, including Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox. This Alpha is hosted at Rostrevor Baptist Church, but is suitable for all faith backgrounds and all are welcome.
Alpha is multilingual and multicultural. It has been run in 169 countries and in 112 languages. At Rostrevor, Alpha is available in Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Italian, Arabic, Farsi and Tamil.
